Jen Kyllonen from the Pink Feather Foundation was our guest speaker and we presented her with a $500 donation along with 2 irons for their use.
After moving 6 times since their inception in 2011, the Foundation is building their Forever Home at 65 King St. in Oxford on land that was gifted to them. This is a 48’ x 100’ building which will have heat, a bathroom and functional work area. Working with the teachers in two school districts, SAD 17 and RSU 16, they help 275-300 kids from Pre-K thru high school every year. All their items are on-line and with assistance from the teachers, students can go online, pick out clothing, shoes, coats, boots, whatever they need. Each request is packed in a suitcase along with new underwear and socks and topped with a pink feather, then delivered to the school for the student.
