Welcome to the Rotary Club of Oxford Hills. We are located in the beautiful forested foothills of western Maine. We believe in fun, fellowship and the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self". Please consider joining us for breakfast at 7:30 on Wednesday mornings at the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Our club of 40 members has a goal of making our community and the world a better place to live. Our club is involved in projects that make a difference in the lives of people less fortunate than ourselves. It can be as simple as delivering flowers to the residents of a local nursing home or partnering with Rotary International to immunize children against the crippling effects of Polio, building a hospital or drilling wells for drought-stricken villages in Africa.
I invite you to browse our website and learn more about our club and the wonderful work Rotary does throughout the world. Rotary is an International organization of 30,000 clubs with 1.2 million members working together to benefit mankind.
This year our theme is "The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands". This theme resonates with me because I believe in the power of the individual to affect change. The success of any organization lies in the hands of it's members and Rotary has had tremendous success. Therefore, I feel it is fitting to honor and remind our members that it is their efforts which make Rotary International a powerful agent of hope, goodwill and peace.
Thank you,
Larry Jordan
President 2009-2010
